Selaimen, Graciela

Graciela Selaimen is a journalist, specialized in Local Development with a Gender Perspective and with a Masters in Communications an Culture. Graciela has participated actively in the WSIS process, and, as a founding member of the CRIS Campaign, was one of the creators of its Brazilian chapter – the CRIS Brasil Campaign. Since 2005, as one of the coordinators of Instituto Nupef (Center for Research, Studies and Capacity Building - www.nupef.org.br), Graciela works with the objective of informing, raising awareness and fostering the participation of latin-american NGOs and social movements in IG processes. Graciela is the editor of the Rets online magazine [www.rets.org.br], and of the poliTICs magazine [www.politics.org.br]. She's a member of the PEIC (Research Group on Political Economy of Communication) and of the Cibercult Laboratory, both at the Communication School of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, where she collaborates to strengthening the links between academics and civil society activists on issues related to ICT policies; Internet Governance; and ICTs and Human Rights.
