    What will participants gain from attending this session? The session will increase journalists’ understanding of key internet governance issues and their impact on media freedom as well as equip media professionals with the knowledge and skills to actively participate in digital policy discussions.
    Description:

    Despite the critical role journalists play in shaping public discourse, their involvement in internet governance (IG) remains limited. This session will focus on equipping African journalists with the knowledge and tools to engage effectively in IG debates, ensuring that media perspectives are represented in policy discussions on issues such as digital rights, platform governance, and content moderation.
    Expected Outcomes
    At the end of the session, participants are to gain more insight into how to practically engage in IGF at the local and national level.
    Hybrid Format: A Zoom link will be created so participants can engage both online and offline. Also, an online moderator will be assigned to ensure that those online can be fully engaged.
