    Description

    The session is under the subtheme of advancing human rights and inclusion in the digital age. Focusing on the status quo and development of rural women's employment in the digital age, representatives from China and the international community are invited to share the various changes they have observed in rural women brought about by digital technology. The discussion will explore experiences and cases where digitalization has aided the employment of rural women, showcasing the different possibilities for their career development with the assistance of digital technology.



    1.Appoint moderators for both the onsite and online audiences. Moderators can facilitate discussions, relay online questions to the speaker, and ensure that virtual attendees are as much a part of the conversation as those in the room.
    2.Live Streaming with Interaction: Stream sessions in real-time and incorporate features that allow online attendees to ask questions and participate in discussions just like onsite participants.

    Targets: "Empowering rural women by digitization" directly relates to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 5, which aims to "Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls."
    1.End Discrimination (Target 5.1): By providing digital tools and resources, we can help to eliminate discriminatory practices that often keep rural women from accessing education and economic opportunities.
    2.Equal rights to economic resources, property ownership and financial services.(Target 5.7) Digitization can help in giving rural women equal access to financial services, property ownership, and economic resources, which can lead to their increased economic independence and participation.
    3.Promote empowerment of women through technology(Target 5.8) Enhance the use of enabling technology, in particular information and communications technology, to promote the empowerment of women.

    And it relates to Goal 8 Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all. Providing rural women with access to digital tools and resources can result in increased economic productivity through entrepreneurship, innovation, and access to markets. This contributes to higher levels of economic growth both locally and nationally.
